Iran’s short ‘Bedbug’ to be screened in US

Iranian short ‘Bedbug’ is to go on screen at the 2020 Davis Feminist Film Festival in the US.

Written and directed by Pourya Owsati, the short film ‘Bedbug’ has been selected to go on screen at the 14th edition of the Davis Feminist Film Festival (DFFF) in the US.

Produced by Saman Heidari, the short title narrates the story of a girl named Alaa who lives in a Dorm.

Alaa’s objection to the watchman of the dorm results in a quarrel with him.

The cast of the short title includes Sahar Sotovvat, Marzieh Sepehri, Elham Heidari, Babak Jafarieh, Ayat Asadi-Rahbar, Kobra Qaregouzlou, Mansour Nobakht, Maryam Eslami, Touba Pakestani, Mahdieh Rezaee, Ghazal Heidari, Negin Bairamzadeh and Milad Parvar.

The short title was selected from more than 800 submitted works and will go on the US screen together with nearly 100 other films.

‘Bedbug’ has previously participated at the 17th Film Tasveer Festival in Iran.

The DFFF presents short films from around the world.

The festival focuses on films that explore social issues that are ignored by mainstream media.

This edition of the DFFF is slated for May 30, 2020.
